Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia - In medicine (hematology) microangiopathic hemolytic anemia (MAHA) is a subgroup of hemolytic anemia (anemia, loss of red blood cells through destruction) caused by factors in the small blood vessels. It is identified by the finding of anemia and schistocytes ("bite cells") on microscopy of the blood film.

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia - Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is one type of hemolytic anemias caused by excessive hemolyisis and it is identified by auto-antibodies that react with RBCs. these antibodies are detected by the direct antiglobulin test also known as Coombs' test.
